Reposted from iPodTouchMaster.com with permission. To view the tutorial with images:
These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone and iPod touch using BlackRa1n for Windows.
The BlackRa1n jailbreak will work with the latest 3.1.2 firmware; however, it will not hacktivate your iPhone. This means that if you are not on an official Apple approved carrier BlackRa1n cannot activate it.
For those with the new iPod touch, BlackRa1n only supports a tethered jailbreak. This means that once…

As I was thinking about a name for my app it occured to me that I should do a search to see if the name I come up with is already trademarked. I figured it would be good to avoid any legal problems or potential lawsuits.
So I wondered how many apps currently in the AppStore have secured a trademark. I did a search for a few of the popular apps under trademarks and you'd be surprise that some didn't have any kind of trademark and it could be a case where they couldn't trademark a word or name.…

I know you haven't seen a posting since last Friday I've been busy, so this one will cover the last few days of what has transpired since then. On Friday I didn't do much work on the application it was more of a read and research day. I did some reading to understand some concepts specifically about TableViewControllers and working with them.
I got some good feedback from a couple of readers about the user interface for the application I posted a question about one of my views and they gave me…

I bought a couple of books and begin studying programming for the iPhone for those who don't know I'm already a programmer. I work as a Web Developer developing primarily on Microsoft .Net platforms creating websites and web applications. I've worked with mobile applications before but that's…

A few days ago, Apple approved the Bluetooth version of iSamurai, our sword-fighting simulation and action game. With this release, two people with iPhones or iPod Touch 2Gs can sword fight without tracking down a Wi-Fi network.
This is the game that we originally envisioned. People can play the game in their back yard, at the park or... wherever they happen to be.
iSamurai is one of the first games to implement the new Bluetooth capability in iPhone software 3.0. During development, we ran in…

Hi,
We recently released iSamurai: Two-Player Sword Fight and now we have released a free lite version.
iSamurai is an action game/simulation which allows two people to sword fight by moving their iPhones--the iPhones communicate with each other in real-time to ascertain whether an attack was blocked or not, and both phones emit appropriate sounds: the ring of clanging swords when blocked or various cries when hit.
You can see videos on our site: http://isamuraiapp.com
