iSamurai Bluetooth release - sword fight anywhere!

A few days ago, Apple approved the Bluetooth version of iSamurai, our sword-fighting simulation and action game. With this release, two people with iPhones or iPod Touch 2Gs can sword fight without tracking down a Wi-Fi network.

This is the game that we originally envisioned. People can play the game in their back yard, at the park or... wherever they happen to be.

iSamurai is one of the first games to implement the new Bluetooth capability in iPhone software 3.0. During development, we ran into some issues and Apple helped us to come up with a solution. Until Apple upgrades iPhone OS 3.0, players competing over Bluetooth should turn off Wi-Fi. And if they are using a Wi-Fi connection, they should turn off Bluetooth. The reason for this is that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth use the same aerial and the OS tends to look at both when connecting which can cause lags and bad connections. More information on that is available on our blog at http://toykite.com/content/bluetoothwifi-issues-and-status-30
